Reflecting on My Two Weeks as "The Mom"

Posted on August 15th, 2009 :: 4:54 pm by Greg

For the past two weeks I have assumed the role of main caregiver for our five oldest kids, and main caretaker of our household stuff. It’s something I’ve done following the birth of each of the past four kids (pretty sure it started with our daughter, Kirsten) and something I always really look forward to….

Julia’s Opinion of Money

Posted on August 15th, 2009 :: 3:59 pm by Greg

This afternoon, following a nice lunch together as a family, the kids discovered that Julia had left a fifty cent piece in her food. (Yes, in her food.) Incredulous, big brother Alex asked, “Julia!!! Why did you do that?? Don’t you know that’s fifty cents!!?? It’s real money!” Without missing a beat, Julia held up…

My Quiver is Full

Posted on August 10th, 2009 :: 8:35 am by Greg

This morning I had a little quiet time before the children woke up (because I got up early to see our friends off on their journey home) and I decided to pick up my Bible and read something random. I’ve been reading through Genesis, love to read the Gospels, recently read the book of Amos,…

God’s Provision: Perfect.

Posted on August 7th, 2009 :: 10:41 pm by Greg

I’ve mentioned here many times how God has arranged things for us to be able to pay our bills, feed our kids, and keep our house. It’s really astounding at times. I’m pretty sure that “on paper” … it just shouldn’t work. But it does. It always does. I forgot to, or didn’t get to,…

Reposting: "Evangelists"

Posted on August 7th, 2009 :: 9:50 pm by Greg

I’m not usually one to recycle here, but I’ve been reading a good deal more than writing these days, and one of the books I happen to be re-reading is the one I compiled a few years ago, There’s The Steeple, Here’s The Church. I had a chance over the past several months to revisit…

Reposting: "If You Build It…"

Posted on August 5th, 2009 :: 11:05 amJanuary 20th, 2010 :: 12:24 am by Greg

I recently re-read this article I wrote way back in 2005! It was included in my book, There’s The Steeple… Here’s The Church!, and was just a cool reminder to me that if we want to be part of something “successful” (really successful) then it’s best to see where God is working and follow his…

Welcome, Cameron James Campbell

Posted on July 31st, 2009 :: 10:48 pm by Greg

July 30th has become a meaningful day in the Campbell household. It’s the day that Cameron James was born! At 7:59am he breathed his first breath. It was slightly labored, but… I’m getting ahead of myself. Every baby born to us so far has come before the due date. Anywhere from three days all the…

Space Exploration in the News?

Posted on July 28th, 2009 :: 4:56 pm by Greg

Saw this interesting article today. I used to talk about cool things we were learning from and doing in space… until I got too busy! 🙂 Have been cutting back on the schedule though, and hoping to have more time to read and pass along things I read, AND even write some of my own…

Dryer Sheets

Posted on July 24th, 2009 :: 9:47 pm by Greg

I needed to do a couple loads of laundry tonight, so I was a little disappointed when I went downstairs and found some laundry sort of “in process”. (Note: our 7 year old does most of our laundry, and usually pretty well. But, well… he’s seven. Nuff said.) For some reason this time he had…

Buffalo Bills Football is Almost Here!!

Posted on July 21st, 2009 :: 9:06 am by Greg

Serious, folks. It’s almost here. This Saturday, the Bills will begin their training camp practices, and two weeks from Sunday they will play their first pre-season game!! (We’re excited!) They made the surprising move of retaining the popular-with-the-players, but mildly unsuccessful head coach Dick Jauron, but then followed that up with some very intriguing moves…
