Inside, Outside, Upside Down

Posted on June 13th, 2006 :: 7:32 am by Greg

A couple weeks ago, now, we were visiting some old friends at their home in the Buffalo area. We all went to Bible college together, and three of us even went to high school and earlier schools together. We go way back. 🙂 We’ve stayed in touch through the years, though over greater distances, so…

Ten Years

Posted on June 9th, 2006 :: 10:09 am by Greg

Today marks an anniversary of sorts. June 9th, 1996 was the first Sunday that I began working with the Church of Christ at Victor. That was what brought me to Rochester, NY along with my former college roommate and his wife. Fresh out of college and ready to tackle the world! So much has happened…

Final Proof Corrections Submitted

Posted on June 9th, 2006 :: 10:01 am by Greg

Well, it took me most of the night, but I finished making the corrections to the first proof I received from iUniverse, and we’re in the home stretch for the first book, Life In The Rearview Mirror: Reflections On Life Lived! A final proof should be back to me sometime next week, and then it…

One Down, One To Go

Posted on May 12th, 2006 :: 4:31 pm by Greg

It’s official. The first of two books that I am hoping to publish this month is to the printer. I am going to do this one the same as last time. Print on demand. I will be getting 25 copies, will maybe order another 25 or so, but then all the rest I will sell…

I’ll Meet Ya At The Pub

Posted on May 3rd, 2006 :: 11:25 am by Greg

Now, I’ve never actually said those words. I can’t recall ever having been to an actual “pub”. Oh wait, one time we took a group of students from our campus ministry to a pub to hear a friend’s Celtic band. Was that a pub or a bar? I know I’ve visited several bars, but, I…

"What Do You Have For Me Today, God?"

Posted on April 24th, 2006 :: 5:09 pm by Greg

This weekend is a distant blur. I know it’s only Monday, but it seems like things we did just yesterday are several days removed. That’s because we packed it in. My sister was over in Buffalo for a wedding, and visiting family, so we also went to visit. And along with the many plans we…

What We’ve Always Thought

Posted on April 11th, 2006 :: 8:36 am by Greg

At times, I am still surprised these days at the little things I notice that might not be what I always thought they were. You would think I would stop being surprised when so much of what I thought was essential has become something I don’t even think about anymore. But there are still moments….

Not What We Do, But Who We Are

Posted on April 4th, 2006 :: 10:06 pm by Greg

I spent this afternoon working on the covers of my two soon-to-be-published books. I had some ideas floating around my head, and got a little creative boost somehow, so I figured I’d put some other things aside and tackle that project. I was trying to design the covers to reflect the titles of the books….

Life In The Institution

Posted on April 2nd, 2006 :: 6:02 pm by Greg

I awoke this morning with a song in my head. As a parent of young children, I’m not ashamed to admit that every once in a while, I’ll have a Wiggles song stuck in my head. 🙂 So as I was showering (with the songs still stuck in my head) I thought it might be…

You Can’t Go Back

Posted on March 20th, 2006 :: 10:39 am by Greg

It feels like we’re in a desert land right now. It’s dry, and hot. We’re tired, and as far as we can see all around us, it’s only sand. No one else around, and that’s the problem. Oh, there are plenty of people. We have great friends. They are quick to help with things we…
