FIFA World Cup 2010: Vuvuzelas!

Posted on June 15th, 2010 :: 10:21 am by Greg

If you have been watching any of the World Cup so far this month (perhaps even if you haven’t) you know that the word of the tournament so far is: Vuvuzela. Now, I am no fan of the constant, buzzing drone that provides the soundtrack to every minute of every match… nor am I so…

Diff’rent Strokes: Two Mr. Ts

Posted on May 29th, 2010 :: 10:01 am by Greg

You have probably heard by now that actor Gary Coleman died yesterday from injuries he sustained to his head from a fall. We had recently been reacquainted with Coleman as one of the ball players in the movie Church Ball (now one of our son Ian’s favorite movies!) but of course Coleman is most known…

TomTom Vader

Posted on May 17th, 2010 :: 9:11 am by Greg

For anyone who has a TomTom GPS thingie (my parents, for example) you now have the ability to be guided to your destination by Darth Vader (or master Yoda, I believe…) And who wouldn’t want that? 🙂 The video above is a “behind the scenes” look at the recording session with Lord Vader… good stuff….

Sunday Morning

Posted on May 15th, 2010 :: 10:24 pmMay 21st, 2010 :: 9:40 am by Greg

Our friend Marie showed us this video tonight. If you’ve ever had any part in the planning and execution of a local Sunday morning “show” … I think you’ll get a few laughs from this video, too. 🙂 Enjoy!

There Are More Important Things…

Posted on April 16th, 2010 :: 1:36 pm by Greg

I had to double and triple check to make sure this video was real… it is. How can we really think this way? The language this woman uses to describe her “problem” (which was … until two months prior to the speech you see in this video—from the “Digital Inclusion Summit” on March 9, 2010—her…

Trololo?

Posted on March 27th, 2010 :: 8:15 pm by Greg

Thanks to a friend of ours, we have now been exposed to an apparent internet phenomenon, a video of a lip-syncing Russian from 1978, singing a song without any words. Yes. You read that right. The reason we know it’s a phenomenon is the incredible number of alternate versions available on YouTube, including this very…

Three Ways To Homeschool

Posted on March 9th, 2010 :: 12:35 pmMarch 9th, 2010 :: 3:41 pm by Greg

Watch at CBSNews Online I’d say there are more than three ways to “home school”, but found this CBS news video to be fairly interesting as we are currently listening to and reading about a “method” called “A Thomas Jefferson Education.” A friend of ours got us a two-hour CD with the ideas behind the…

It’s Not Where You’re From, It’s Where You’re At

Posted on March 4th, 2010 :: 10:55 pmJuly 4th, 2013 :: 9:44 am by Greg

Nike: The Human Chain I’m not 100% sure of the title of this commercial, but I saw it several times during the Olympics and really liked it. The commercial is very visually creative (and cool) and I like the song. Especially the line, “It’s not where you’re from, it’s where you’re at.” We just started…

Fan Boy?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 :: 12:34 am by Greg

On the half-hour drive home from celebrating our daughter’s 6th birthday, we somehow remembered the famous Get A Mac ads that Apple has so brilliantly done for the past several years. I think it started with our oldest son and I quoting from one of them. Well, from there we remembered that the complete library…

The NFL Network Comes to Hulu!

Posted on January 29th, 2010 :: 4:16 pm by Greg

Following up on yesterday’s recommended Hulu show … they announced today that there is a slew of NFL content now available on their site. They even have their own channel there! This is great news, and I hope to see more. Perhaps next season NFL GameDay will be there as well? (Come on, NFL!) Until…
