What is Sin – Part II

Estimated reading time: 2 minute(s)

Sin – in every form – is a lack of trust in God. Every one. It is saying, "God, I know better than you on this one… I’m gonna do it MY way!"

Think about it…

Stealing is not trusting God to provide. Fear is not trusting that God is in control. Gossip is not trusting God to work things out. Hate is I think the same thing — we hate, and spew forth hatred because we are trying to take matters into our own hands… if someone has wronged us (in any way) the right thing to do is to love them – the same as always – and let the Judge take care of the injustice.

Lust (and really any sexual sin, like adultery, etc) is not trusting God to meet our sexual needs in the way He designed in marriage with one life-long partner. Murder is just an extension of anger – mentioned above. Drunkenness – again, an attempt to take matters into our own hands, which is ironic in the case of drunkenness…

Pride? Pride is kinda the same as not trusting God. It can underly many sins. It is the sin that says I am the one in control, I am the one who made this happen, I am the reason that I am so good… essentially, pride is saying I AM GOD. (Again, not trusting God with control in our lives – not submitting to Him).

So when it comes down to it… when you sin, when I sin… it’s really saying "I don’t completely trust You in this area, God… I think I will try my own way…"

There is a way that seems right to a man, bit in the end it leads to death. (Prov 14:12, 16:25)

Trust God – Sin Less.

Hmm… that was cool. 🙂

When we trust Jesus with our lives, we get to be sinless! Trust God – Sin Less! Ha!!

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Cor 5:21)

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Eph 1:4)

YES!!! 🙂
