A Journey Shared: Selected Thoughts From Greg's Head
A thought-provoking journey with musician/author Greg Campbell through the joys, challenges and miracles of everyday life with Jesus.
Five main sections deal with the everyday challenges of understanding and dealing with sin, the many aspects of doing life together with other people, the pain and ultimately the hope of dealing with lives lost, and the slow struggle of learning to trust the love of our Father along the way. How great is our God! And how great is this life we live with Him! Life like it ought a be!
Jesus said, "I came that you might have life, and life to the full!"
Come, let's travel together on A Journey Shared.

Another Road Trip
In 1996, four college seniors and a freshman – including a brother/sister duo – formed the band, “Brother And Sister in Christ” – aka, basic. The adventure began with this album, Another Road Trip, which appropriately, was recorded over a weekend road trip to Clarence, NY. (The entire project was recorded, with a final mix down in 29 hours!)
Simple songs, simple lyrics - great harmonies. This would become a trademark of basic's music. Greg & Tara Campbell (she has now become Tara Bowers) sing tight harmonies, backed up by Cincinnati Bible Colleges finest musicians: Matt Carswell (drums), Bryce Davis (Guitar/Piano/Vocals) and Todd Earnst (Bass/Shaker).
The album was engineered by Glenn Bernardis - www.gbaudioonline.com - and recorded at Mark Recording Studios in the Campbells' then hometown of Clarence, NY.
A timeless recording, and definitely worth checking out!

Come As You Are
Acoustic-based, thought-provoking lyrics with tight harmonies supported by a variety of instruments that are both relaxing and fun, edgy and contemplative.
Come As You Are is a collection of diverse music with one central theme... the completely astounding love of our God for us. We are prone to stumbling through life and falling flat on our faces... but he is there to help us back up. He invites us to come right out of the mud we are in and accept his embrace! Incredible.
The CD goes from intimate acoustic songs like Heart Of Mine, and Because, to all out heavy guitar rock on Wretched Man. Listen and be drawn to the heart of Jesus as he invites you to Come As You Are!
Come As You Are was actually in the planning stages since we finished our first album, Another Road Trip, back in 1996. (The title song from this album JUST missed being included on that album!) When God led us back into full-time music ministry, we decided to do a worship CD... and thus was born Lord, Hear My Voice. But we did not forget the long awaited Come As You Are project!
The songs on this 13 track project were written over a span of 8 years, ranging from 1993 to 2001! And yet, with such a span of time, all the songs echo the story of God's amazing, grace-filled invitation to Come As You Are.

Rockin guitar riffs. Chunky bass licks. Rhythms that your body can't refuse to move to.

God Came is a collection of familiar Christmas carols done in a fun new
way, telling the story of our God giving up his right to be God so that
he could live with us, and die for us, and we could live with him. A story
that is more than amazing. It's the real story of Christmas.
From familiar tunes like JOY to the World and O Come All Ye Faithful
to new original music like No Room For A King and the title track, God
Came - the CD is full of great Christmas music, tight vocal harmonies,
and some fun twists!
So get ready for a rockin' celebration of Christmas...
When God came to live with us.
Life In The Rearview Mirror
Greg’s second book, full of stories of family life, parenting, money issues, relationships with people and with God. A wide gamut of subjects, as seen in the rearview mirror.
Books communicate ideas, yes, but they are more than that. The book you are holding, along with Greg's previous writing A Journey Shared, 2005, invites you on a journey. It's the life he has lived over the past year or so -- shared. It's the ups and the downs, not compressed into scholarly jargon, but hopefully fresh and real, and like a conversation at the corner cafe.
There are some deep things in this book, and some more light-hearted. Subjects ranging from the character of God (love, grace, mercy), to life with small kids, to divorce and blended families, to death, taxes, and a whole section on money. But all of it is an invitation to think along with the author, to travel together on the path trod over the past twelve months. The book does not assume to present all the answers to the questions posed. Certainly not. But Greg has pondered the side things, and invites you to do that with him.

Lord, Hear My Voice
Easy to sing along with, catchy melodies, cool harmonies — all that descrives this album. It was released at the turn of the century, and still is one of basics more popular CDs.
"Lord, Hear My Voice" is a collection of original worship songs. They were written over a period of several years in many different places. Most of them are part of the regular rotation of songs at Willowbrook Christian Church in Victor, NY (where Greg was the worship minister from 1999-2001) - and some were even written specifically for Willowbrook.
The songs are intended for corporate worship, so if you see a song your church or group could use - get the music (at our online store: basicmm.com/store) and get a CD and go for it! That's what we made the CD for! :-) You can help us out by reporting your usage to CCLI.
There's The Steeple... Here's The Church
“The church is so much more than we let it be.” Selected thoughts on the current manifestations of the church.
Do you go to church looking to connect with God and with people, and find that you often leave feeling like you missed out on that very thing? Do you feel like maybe there's more to life with God than what happens in your local church buidling?
There is! Jesus spoke of worship being transcendant of a time and place (John 4) and that is true of his church as well. The church was never meant to be located to a time, or a building, or a service... it's the people who belong to Jesus! We are his body, the family of God. The church is so much more than we let it be, and in this book, I explore all sorts of things that God has opened my eyes to over the past several years.
This project means a lot to me, and I hope you'll find encouragement from a fellow traveler within these pages. We published this one on our own, so that we could keep the book price down. We are selling them for $10, but we also offer a FREE PDF DOWNLOAD of the entire book. (Donations are always welcome... click above.) :-)
(NOTE: You can right-click, or Option-click (Mac users) on the link above to download the file, or just click to view online.)
It seems to us that we are missing out on so much of life with God because we are so busy with the many ways we have to serve him! What a crazy paradox! But it's true, and perhaps you have experienced that as well. I encourage you to read this book, and perhaps you'll see again how God is drawing you into the close, personal relationship he wants so much to have with you!
